The Prada of the Tequila world
Patron is produced and blended by a small family owned and operated distillery high in the mountains of Jalisco. Recently an additional new distillery has been built which will incorporate the traditional tequila manufacturing methods of the past while integrating modern techniques of quality control. This particular growing region of Mexico is considered the most ideal for production of the Weber Tequilana Blue Agave.
The climate is warm and the soil is clayey with high ferrous oxide content.
Patron tequilas are made from premium selected Weber Tequilana Blue Agave plants. The trimmed heart of the agave plant resembles a large "pineapple". The trimmed agave "pineapples" weigh between 50 to 80 lbs. It takes 8 to 9 years for a premium Blue Agave to mature properly. Blue Agave grown in this region produce higher "honey" or sugar content, which when distilled produces a very individual character and flavour. There are certain "bitter" sprouts which must be carefully removed from the "pineapple" before steam baking. Few distilleries take the care and time to remove these sprouts. Patron does.
The next extremely important step in production is the slow vapour steam baking in masonry ovens. This steam baking takes approximately 36 hours. Most tequila factories fast cook the pineapples caramelizing the outside and leaving much of the inside under cooked, bitter and starchy. The cooked agave is then carefully torn and placed in a shallow stone milling pit and slowly macerated by large stone milling wheels. Crushing in this fashion leaves the sweet juice freely absorbed in the mescal fibers. The juice filled fiber is then placed in wooden fermentation vats. Once in the fermentation vats the juice is naturally adjusted and yeast added to encourage fermentation. This fermentation lasts for 60 to 72 hours.
The "must" is then submitted to a double distillation in copper pot sills. The first distillation produces a low alcohol content, the second produces a much higher alcohol content. The tequila is then balanced to 80 proof 40% Alc. by volume and fine filtered.

Patron Silver is called young or "joven" tequila. A similarity may be made to a young or nouvelle wine.
It is known for its light, fresh, crystal clear look and an elegant smoothness not found in other silver tequilas. Many prefer this smooth, soft and light tequila over an aged and slightly oaky flavour. Those that know the difference may find Patron Silver the finest silver tequila available. It is perfect for blending with a high quality mixer or may be easily sipped.
Patron Tequila, like the great wines and congacs of the world, is exceptional for a reason. It begins with the finest growing region in Mexico. High in the mountains of Jalisco exists a region which allows with perfect soil and climate which allows the sugar and acid balances of the Weber Tequilana Blue Agave to mature and produce an 'Agave Pina' unequalled elsewhere in the world.
Like premium wine grapes, the sugar acid balance must be perfect before harvest.
Patron tequilas are the only tequilas truly produced in the traditional handmade fashion. After harvest the 'pina' are carefully selected, trimmed and then slowly steam baked. When cooked to perfection the 'pina' is macerated with large, natural, stone-milling wheels. The fermentation is done with the fiber of the 'pina' which helps impart its unique flavour and smoothness. After a double distillation process the tequila is aged in small oak barrels. When properly aged the tequila is fine filtered and ready for careful hand bottling.

Patron Reposado is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of six months and blended to incorporate the fresh clean taste of Patron Silver with a hint of the oak flavour found in Patron Anejo.
Reposado style tequila has been popular in Mexico for many years and is experiencing an excellent reception by most tequila connoisseurs world wide.
Patron Reposado may be enjoyed as a sipping tequila or mixed with high quality mixers, not to mention making an excellent "Ultra Premium" margarita.

Patron Anejo is a delicate blend of uniquely aged tequilas. As in many premium red wines the blends must be adjusted for each vintage. The same care and attention is paid when blending Patron Anejo. All the aged tequilas are aged in small, white oak barrels.

Unusually for Tequila this is triple distilled for extra purity, reported to be the finest sipping tequila ever made. Each bottle is surrounded by a velvet draw-string bag and comes encased in a hand made, violin quality, curly maple wood box; like each bottle, every box is a hand-crafted, collectible piece of art that is signed and numbered by its craftsman.

Gran Patron Burdeos Anejo Tequila is distilled at 55 percent alcohol volume from the finest blue Agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
The Tequila is matured in a blend of American and French oak barrels and aged for a minimum of 12 months. It is then distilled again before it is racked in vintage Bordeaux barrels, hand-selected from the great chateaux of France to add the distinctive flavors of vanilla, raisins and dried fruit found in the finest Bordeaux wine.
Each bottle is placed in a box handcrafted from a single piece of black walnut, designed to double as a display case for the bar. Set in a bed of suede, the unleaded crystal bottle is cork finished like wine and sealed with a crystal cap. The packaging includes a specially designed corkscrew to assist with opening and an unleaded crystal bee stopper to preserve every drop.
